So, I had my "minor surgery" on Monday afternoon & I'm just now, this morning, finally getting back to the world of the living.
I was only supposed to be put under what they call "twilight", kinda like the movie only without the vampires & werewolves.
But, the doctor said I was fighting it and they were having trouble with "saturation"; basically, I wasn't going out enough. That's apparently when they decided to put me fully under, intubated and all. Then they gave me a medicine for the pain during recovery, a medicine that I was told would be, "better than vicodin". Well, I had a really bad reaction to the anesthesia and an allergic reaction to the post op meds so I was literally a mess since I got home.
I'm not sure if the constant puking, the throbbing head that felt squeezed like a cat by a cat loving two year old girl, the disorientation that made it hard to even sit up let alone know what day it was, or the pain in my heal (where the surgery actually happened), but either way,
IT WAS AWFUL!!
So, however your Monday & Tuesday went, I'm pretty sure I would have traded you. But I'm glad to be back & have some serious lost time to make up for now.
Tonight our elders & our directors will begin changing the way we have meetings so that a few times a month we will all be meeting together; I'm really excited about the simple change. Excited because we have an amazing team of elders & ministry directors & so the opportunity to work all together as opposed to separate meetings all the time should greatly increase our effectiveness.
Well, glad to be back & thanks to anyone who prayed for my surgery, but clearly you did not pray enough. :)
